It is a cloudy Sunday today. The past week, Amber Alerts of iphones warned of extreme heat wave here in California, even Up North. Temperature were on the 100s and it was the talk of the town and topped the headlines. CA Department of Public Health placed the state under Emergency Plan 2.
More than the physiologic discomfort, I was more worried with how battered Mother Earth is as a result of our own doing. The heat wave wasn't over yet and there was already a warning of a possible tropical storm. Crazy!!!
I don't possess magical powers to heal the nature's bruises, all I can do is to continue little tasks I somehow hope would benefit the place we live. I have my washable water jugs that I keep with me, I rarely consume plastic bottles. I veer away from disposable utensils and instead use washable ones and straws. On instances that plastic containers are used, I re-use them at least twice. It is a good thing the community where I live is big on recycling.
Back to the heat wave, I am relieved it is over now and ahead are cooler days and months.
